Some
questions we often hear:
"We
are a small business and want to use network cameras, but probably
only have budget for one camera right now. Are you still
interested in us?"
Most
definitely! Ours too is a small business and as such we see
our main target market being the SME sector. We have a
direct interest in providing you with excellent products and
service, because we want you to come back to us again and again as
you grow - as we both grow! We also want you to be happy to
recommend us to your business associates and customers.
"Is
this technology tried and tested?"
It
certainly is - the world leading manufacturer, Axis, has over
300,000 units installed. Why not take a quick look at the Axis
website?
"I
don't want my business network to be affected when these cameras are
plugged into it"
We
work alongside your I.T. people, keeping them up to speed on
exactly what we need to do, how we need to do it and when.
Cameras use network bandwidth, but with competent installation,
your network performance will be unaffected.
"I
have worked with my CCTV company for years - why can't they do this
work?"
The
skill set needed to install and support network cameras is very
different to the skill set of a CCTV engineer. Network
cameras are part of the I.T. industry and in our view require the skills of
I.T. professionals who have spent years working with programmable
digital systems. CCTV on the other hand is more akin to the
analogue TV industry. Like it or not, times change. If
your computer screen stops working, do you call the television repair
man? For your sake, we hope not. (We are proud to be
available to act in an advisory capacity to CCTV installers,
helping them get used to working with the new cameras.)
"OK
so you are basically an I.T. company - what do you know about good
service? Most I.T. companies I deal with are staffed by geeks
who can't string a sentence together"
The
directors of harpernicholls limited, the company behind
eyeontheplace.com, have literally decades of experience in
customer-facing industries. For them, delightful customer
service is a strand that must run right through the business and
must be present in every single interaction with the outside world
- with customers, with suppliers - with everyone. We can truly bridge that gap between technology and your
business needs.
"My
whole system is analogue CCTV - it cost me a fortune, and I can't
afford to just ditch the lot when all I need is one replacement
camera - so I'm stuck with CCTV right?"
NO
- this is no problem. We simply provide equipment (video
servers, video decoders) to convert images to the same format, so you
can keep your existing cameras for now and then upgrade them, one-by-one if you
like, when budget allows.
"If
I go digital now, how do I monitor the cameras?"
We
provide web-based applications for monitoring and recording of images.
There is a range of options available depending on your needs and budget - we
will advise you fully. Whichever you choose, images are recorded on
servers away from your premises, so there is no need any more for an expensive analogue
console or for video cassette recorders.
"I
have a problem. My existing camera monitoring console is all
analogue, and I want to keep it, but I want to start investing in
digital - can network cameras work with my old console?"
Yes
- we can supply a box called a network video decoder, which takes
the digital signals from your new cameras and converts them to
analogue for transmission down coaxial cable to your existing
monitoring station.
Remember
- to discuss your particular needs, just call us any time.
